Dr Adrian Sciberras, FCCA, MIA, CPA, LL.B. (Hons)(Melit.), M. Adv (Melit.), Chairman of the Business Concept International plc, is a certified public accountant, entrepreneur and advocate. He was born in 1980 and received his education at St Aloysius College. Dr Sciberras brings over years of experience in the accountancy field and in helping clients achieve business success by helping them establish practical and sound tax and financial processes. As a founder and business partner of the group of companies, he is an all-rounder in the financial and property sectors. He gained his Accounting degree in 2003 whilst working in the private sector and then moved onto setting up his own businesses in 2009. Later in 2018, he graduated in law with an LL.B.(Hons)(Melit.) and completed a Master of Advocacy degree the following year, in 2019. He then furthered law practice with an established local law firm, leading him to become a warranted lawyer in 2020.

Throughout the years he has gained extensive accounting services experience and expertise in individual, corporate, partnerships, auditing and tax reports. In addition, Dr Sciberras has expertise in company management, international corporate structures and business consulting. His experiences go beyond the local scene due to his various business connections in Italy and especially in Libya, where he served as a bridge to create business setups between the countries.

Dr Adrian Sciberras is a fellow member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the UK and speaks fluently Maltese, English and Italian. Throughout his career, Adrian continues showing long-term commitment to professionalism and ethics.


Charlene Sciberras, B.A. (Hons)

Charlene Sciberras brings along years of experience in the marketing and corporate administration sectors. Graduated from the University of Malta with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), Charlene started her career within the marketing department of a US-owned software company in Malta. In her role, she was responsible for various marketing activities running in the EMEA region, mainly managing online events, conferences and tradeshows, merchandising and campaigns.

Throughout the past years, Charlene’s role evolved through new commitments in the corporate administration sector, being involved in setting up structures and marketing activities for the group of companies focusing on company incorporations, accountancy, and administration, whilst also starting up and running her own marketing and business assistance agency.

Charlene describes herself as an ambitious, determined and a hard working professional individual with strong organisational and coordination skills. With the ability to plan ahead and meet deadlines, she is efficient, proactive, reliable and with a flair for dealing with customers, suppliers and other business contacts in a professional manner. Charlene Sciberras speaks fluently Maltese, English, Italian, and French and has an elementary knowledge of Spanish and Arabic languages.

William Van Buren, FCCA, FIA, CPA, CME-1, B.Accty (Hons.)

William Van Buren has over 25 years of experience in various management and executive positions, mainly in financial services, across Europe, the South African Region and the Middle East. He started his career with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) leading both audit and non-audit engagements, subsequently taking up a Financial Controller position with the Archdiocese of Malta and then Globe Financial Management plc. (now Global Capital plc.). In 2002, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the aforesaid company, where he led the restructuring and eventually the turnaround of the company.

In 2004, William was appointed President of Financial Services for the British American Group in Mauritius, holding the responsibility to monitor and maintain the existing financial services businesses, whilst overseeing the group’s strategy of controlled growth, both organic and through acquisition and new lines of business. During this period, he led various successful initiatives, restructuring a number of group companies and setting up investment services operations in Mauritius, Dubai and Kenya.

In 2007, he joined Al Rajhi Capital, one of the largest investment banks in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with over $2 billion in assets under his management, as Chief Operating Officer. In this role William had direct responsibility for strategy and led the intricate project of separating the investment banking operations from the parent company, Al Rajhi Bank. In 2010 he moved to a similar role in Doha, Qatar, as Chief Operating Officer of The First Investor Ltd, the investment banking arm of the Barwa Bank Group.  As from 2015, he occupies the position of Chief Operating Officer of Aljazira Capital, an investment bank with the largest brokerage market share in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

William graduated with Honours in Accountancy from the University of Malta in 1991 and is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and the Malta Institute of Accountants.
